This is a foley fireplace. Recorded with the blue snowball ice in audacity. I layered the sounds together using audacity. This recording consists of two tracks of a smarties candy wrapper (for the crackling), one track of sticky-tac being pulled apart (the popping), and one track of jeans being rubbed together for some extra sound. I used a pair of soundman okm2 mics as contact microphones which i fixed to the surface of a frozen lake, then recorded the sounds made by throwing or skimming several stones and pebbles across the ice. Wonderful effects can also be achieved by filtering or timestretching the files.

Ambience of a night in december. It snowed earlier in the day, with freezing rain after. In this you can hear icy trees crackle as they sway in the wind. A block away, motorists are passing by. Some people yell out. A one-note wind chime is dinging, sometimes another wind chime sounds. Some ice falls, and various other little things happen. . . I made this recording by using a metal shovel and ramming it into the icy snow. The snow has been around for a couple months now and has been rained on and turned to tiny ice crystals. It sounds like it could be sand, grainy dirt or rock dust.

A high quality recording with a solid collection of various snow footstep sounds. There's sounds of slow walking, fast walking, running, jumping and kicking the snow. You should be able to get pretty much all you need for a game or a film in this recording regarding feet and snow. Recorded with a zoom h2 at 96 khz / 24-bit, truncated and saved to flac using audacity. I left some silence n the start if you want to denoise it yourself, but i think it shouldn't be necessary. It was really quiet.

Skates on ice: here is a very specific sound effect. The metallic slash through ice when it is being skated on. There are multiple variations of this in this track due to the amount of contact the blade of the skate has to the ice and also the force being put into the movement. It is a sharp and cold sound. Recorded with the zoom h6, rode ntg.
